Update

Spectragraphics has evolved into SMS Technologies performing contract manufacturing for many companies. 

With Bob Blumberg still at the helm, they are located in a portion of the same building on Waples, built in the late 80's.

Spectragraphics Corporation

Ah, the late 80's.  The Lakers ruled (with the Pistons in the way sometimes), defense spending was running rampant, and we had fun at the shows and user meetings.

 

 
"Peace is wonderful, but it's bad for business."

That could have been Spectragraphics motto after the Berlin Wall fell down.  As with many other defense-spending-dependent companies, the cutback in the early nineties caused a change in business direction for Spectragraphics.

Note:  That is only my analysis.  Things change for a lot of reasons.  That was one.

 

 

The Spectragraphics Inquirer

  • The 'true' story about the suite in Long Beach!  Who really broke the glass table going out for a pass.  Why was food and passed out bodies all over the room when housekeeping walked in the next morning.
