Krista created our first man overboard drill by losing a life ring overboard.  Had it been a real emergency - well, I'd probably still be filling out paper work.

It was a long day, we didn't get the boat docked and washed up until almost dark.  But, it was a great day.

 Where The %$#* Are We?

June 30, 2001 - We don't need no stinking directions.

John Gargiso and his daughter Tori were out from New York.  So them, Danny, Krista, and myself made a day of it.

We sailed out the channel, heading for open water.  It was hazy in the morning and the winds were horribly light.  So we harassed some sea lions (don't get excited, we just barked at 'em), and sailed back into the bay.

In the bay we buzzed the submarine base, and the Navy Seal training area.  They're getting real touchy and have no sense of humor.  Then we moored and went swimming for a while.

Trigger Point, a 32 foot Catalina was our sailboat of the day.   Again, life doesn't get much better - Go Lakers!

Besides the required group and individual pictures, some of the shots below include:

  • Sea lions sunning themselves on the channel buoys at the entrance to San Diego Bay.

  • Trigger Point at the dock on Coronado Island where we stopped for lunch (San Diego Convention Center in background).

  • Danny with his "Jack-Knife' dive off the boat.  We moored for a couple hours off  Coronado Island and just kicked back.

Dinner the night before included:  myself, Krista, Danny, John, and Tori.
