1983-1985)
I was a Market Segment Manager and a Product Specialist. Duties included
tracking and targeting defense and government programs for the purpose of selling
high-performance graphics systems into large programs. Activities included:
- Government & defense program analysis
- RFP/RFQ analysis and completion.
- Trade show development and management including Defense Computer
Graphics, SIGGRAPH, NCGA, C3I (London, UK)
- Conceived & designed booth displays to emulate Command & Control
stations & simulators.
- Developed extensive sales presentations and conferences with such clients
as NORAD, McAuto, General Dynamics
- Wrote demos/benchmarks in FORTRAN (and graphics language sub-systems) for
Computer Based Training, Range Management, Geographic Information and other applications.
- Converted VAX based demos to SEL, Gould, Perkin-Elmer and other
scientific platforms.
This was a technically involved assignment, requiring in-depth knowledge
of graphics subsystems connected to a variety of mainframes, minis and workstations
Megatek designed and manufactured high performance graphics sub-systems for inclusion in large scale CAD and
custom applications.
