Thanks Diana & Dean
|
|
|
|
We all need to thank Diana and Dean for the
tremendous effort they devoted to the reunion.
Their creativity was only
exceeded by the amount of work they put into the event. Everything
happened smoothly and without a hitch. That was the result of careful
planning and attention to detail.
Let's all wish Diana well in
her event planning business. Obviously she has a knack for it.

Johnson Family Reunion - 2000
Well, it's over - for another two years.
Over hundred of the Johnson clan were able to attend the reunion. Next time it's in
Michigan. Where IS that? I hope Jim and Debbie can give us good
directions. From stories I heard in Wichita though, we are in for some
very interesting activities at the Michigan Reunion. I believe he has the
following scheduled:
- Baby Skunk Catching - Bonus points if you don't burn down half of
Michigan
- Geese Shooting From His Deck - Extra credit for winning a fire arms law
discussion with the local constables.
- Little Bunny Feeding - Be sure to lick there bellys afterwards - lest
they explode.
- Any other life experiences Jim happens to dredge up.
Jim has learned a lot in his life, much to the detriment of the local
wildlife. It is even a wonder that HE is alive. For detailed stories
of the above games, ask Jim. You won't know whether to laugh, cry, or
disinherit him.
And now for a few choice pictures.

Rose Parade it Ain't
Bentley, Kansas will never be the same. This had to be the
shortest (one block), smallest (a busload), and ragtag (we didn't even
have a band) parade ever. But it will be remembered. |

The Bentley Soldiers
Memorial
Dedicated in 2000, this is located in the
Pleasant Valley Cemetery, one mile east of Bentley, Kansas. Everyone
with a Bentley connection, that served in the Armed Forces is listed on
this beautiful stone memorial. This
was the first stop on our genealogy tour. Everybody was really
impressed with the memorial. It is something Bentley and all
people connected with it can be extremely proud of.

The Start of New
Tradition
Duh, would someone send me an
e-mail and tell me who this little boy is. (I know, I'm so bad,
don't even know all my cousins.) Then I'll have a lovely title
like "Boy? placing memorial flag at the Girks gravesite in the Mt
Hope Cemetery"

New Friends Out of
Relatives
My new friend, Carol and Dave's little
girl Kelly. Of course, I think she only liked me for my tickets and
toys I gave here. Women!
Of course I made some other great new
friends, Meghan, Apryl's daughter, and the two little King witches,
Jordan and Katlin (I hope their hexes they put on me at the cemetery aren't
real. What imaginations!). |

Lovely In A Tiara.
Here's Jim and Debbie accepting the
dubious honor of hosting the next reunion. Poor Jim, he said
sometime over the weekend that they might consider hosting it.
Next thing he knows, he's got the crown. |

Personal Emotions
As always, Diana's closing ceremony
evokes memory's of loved ones and the past. We thank her for her
devotion. The candle light ceremony
honors those that have passed before us. |
