Johnson/Bromley Seal

A small carving from carnelian, a red gemstone, mounted in 18k gold casing. Only 1/2 " x 3/4"  this was probably used to mark official documents by pressing into hot wax.

This seal has been passed down the Johnson family to the eldest son of each generation.
