Laughlin River Run - April 26-30, 2006

Adventurous Ladies on Bad Ass Bikes - and more!

Now that I have your attention – These pages are a collection of images from the Laughlin River Run in Laughlin, Nevada.  Some great images - of all kinds.

While historically the event has a bad reputation - three Hell's Angels were killed by the rival Mongols gang in 2002 - it has become relatively safe - but it's still an interesting collection of people and bikes.

Here's the statistics as reported by the Las Vegas Journal-Review on the 2006 version:

  • 75,000 People Attended

  • 600 Citations

  • 20 DUIs

  • 112 Arrests

  • 140 Pounds of Marijuana Confiscated

  • 5 Pounds of Meth

  • 3 Stolen Motorcyles

  • . . . and proudly reported:  No Homicides!

What a great tag line for next year's event:  "No One Killed Last Year"

I left San Diego Wednesday morning, April 26, for the 350 mile ride to Laughlin.  This was the longest ride I'd made on my new bike.  Took about 7 hours, going through Temecula, Palm Desert, Blythe, Needles, Bullhead City, then into Laughlin.  Some mountains, 100 miles of I-10, then 100 miles of desert.  Nice ride, very scenic.  Cruised between 70 and 75 MPH the whole way.

Can't wait till next year.
